Kurt Christopher, MD: Gynecologist
Doctor Kurt Christopher is a native of New York. He completed his undergraduate degree at Colgate University and obtained his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. After medical school, Dr. Christopher moved to Philadelphia to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at one of the county’s leading centers for vulvovaginal disease, Thomas Jefferson University. After residency, Dr. Christopher returned to New York City where he joined the faculty at Beth Israel Medical Center and the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. While on faculty, Dr. Christopher ran the colposcopy clinic and oversaw resident teaching on colposcopy, vulvovaginal disorders, vulvodynia, and recurrent vaginitis at the Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Christopher became the Associate Director of the Center for Vulvovaginal Disorders in New York City in 2002, while maintaining a busy Obstetrics and Gynecology practice.
He relocated to Florida in order to focus his work on the treatment of vulvovaginal disorders.
Dr. Christopher is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been elected to the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and is a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASSCP) and the National Vulvodynia Association. Dr. Christopher is actively involved in research and has recently published peer-reviewed articles on lichen sclerosus, lichen simplex chronicus, and surgery for vestibulodynia.
